The meeting comes slightly two days after the presidential seeker of the party, Bola Tinubu, met Buhari on a thank you visit to the Villa.
Although the matters bandied with Amaechi weren’t bared, Lawan who spoke after his session with the President said the party was still scuffling with challenges it inherited since 1999.
“ I want to make a pledge to Nigerians on behalf of my party that APC at the state and public situations will always do effects that would count for the lives of the ordinary Nigerians and why we’re failing isn’t because we want to fail. It’s because we’re challenged and we’re only eight times old.
“ We had a political party that was in power for 16 times and utmost of the problems that APC met at the state and public situations are issues sown a long time ago since 1999 and some were there before 1999.
“ We’ve done a lot. I’m a principal party in this administration and I know just how important has been invested in the structure of this nation and how much we’ve invested in empowering the youth, ” he said.
Both former applicants are visiting the President for the first time since the presidential primary election.
No sanctioned statement was released after the unrestricted door meetings.
