Strike FG meets ASUU moment, SSANU Friday

 

The Federal Government has proceeded addresses with representatives of unions in the nation’s universities, The PUNCH reports.
The PUNCH reported last week that the Prof Nimi Briggs commission set up by the government to talk the 2009 agreement was anticipated to end its three months ’ timelines given on June 7, 2022.

But examinations revealed that the commission would meet Academic Staff
Union of Universities on Monday( moment) while the Joint Action Committee of the elderly Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, and theNon-Academic Staff Union of Educational and confederated institutions would have their meeting on Friday.

“ We’re meeting the FG commission in Abuja on Monday, ” a source in ASUU said. The union’s National President,Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, in an interview, also told The PUNCH that meetings would renew this week.

“ We’re continuing the meeting this week and we’ve an assignation this week. The renegotiation meeting will only end if we’ve called off the strike.

“ Since the strike is still on, the meeting can not end. We don’t have any problem with the commission. When we do, we will communicate with the commission, ” he said.

also, the Joint Action Committee of the elderly Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, and theNon-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Allied Institutions ’ National President, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, told our pressman that SSANU’s meeting would be on Friday.
